Introduction

Hey there, it's Carrie! I haven't done a video like this in a while, but I've been inspired to share my thoughts on the world of reselling. With encouragement from my fellow resellers, I wanted to take the time to discuss the Current state of reselling, what's been on my mind, and the evolving nature of the industry. So, grab a cup of coffee and join me as we dive into this engaging conversation!

Getting Back into the Groove of Yard Sailing

One of my main thoughts when I came down to Las Vegas was the prospect of year-round yard sailing. However, I must confess that getting back into the groove of waking up early for yard sales has been a struggle for me. While some resellers thrive in the early mornings, I find that my mind is more alert and ready to tackle picking late at night. But I'm determined to overcome this challenge and get back into the yard sale grind. So, this week, I've set a goal to push myself and aim to be out the door by 7:45 am, just a hair before 8. I believe that starting my day early will not only energize me but also provide the motivation I need to excel in my reselling endeavors.

The Power of Early Morning Yard Sales

Now, let's talk about the significance of early morning yard sales. Many resellers have emphasized the importance of starting the day early and being one of the first to arrive at these sales. However, for someone like me who struggles with early mornings, this advice has been challenging to heed. I find my creative juices flowing late at night, which makes the late-night picking scene more appealing to me. However, I understand the value of early morning yard sales in terms of discovering Hidden Gems and scoring great deals. So, I'm working on shifting my routine and mindset to embrace the power of early mornings in the reselling world.

Balancing Distractions in the Reselling World

In the rapidly evolving reselling world, distractions can easily divert our focus from our main goals. Lately, I've found myself juggling multiple projects, such as starting a new car Channel called American Arbitrage Cards, exploring the world of whatnot auctions, and curating vintage clothing collections. While these distractions have their own merits and offer positive experiences, they have also hindered my dedication to garage sales and consistent reselling videos. It's essential to strike a balance and prioritize the Core aspects of our reselling business while still exploring new opportunities and channels.

The Success of American Arbitrage Cards

I want to take a moment to share the exciting progress of my new venture, American Arbitrage Cards. Starting this new card-centric channel on YouTube and other social media platforms has been a gratifying endeavor. The response has been overwhelming, with my videos gaining substantial views and positive feedback. Recently, I experienced a significant milestone when my video from a card Show skyrocketed to nearly 6,000 views – a testament to the value of my acquired skills in video creation and content delivery. This achievement has reaffirmed my belief in applying my expertise to different areas of my life and broadening the scope of my reselling ventures.

The Booming eBay Sales

While my focus has expanded to other platforms and niches, eBay continues to be a reliable marketplace for reselling. My eBay sales have been thriving, and even though they mainly consist of lower-priced items like sports cards and clothing, the volume of sales has been remarkable. Over the past eight to nine months, my eBay listings have grown from under a thousand to nearly 2,800 items, with a major chunk dedicated to sports cards. Moving forward, I plan to capitalize on the success of eBay sales, especially during garage sale seasons, by consistently listing and prioritizing cards and other high-quality items that resonate with my audience.

The Shift Towards Free Shipping

In contemplating new strategies, I've come to a crucial decision regarding the pricing structure of my eBay listings. While I have been known as the "plus shipping" guy and I've intentionally branded myself as such, I believe it's time to adapt and test new models. For most of my sports card listings priced at $20 and below, I will be transitioning to a free shipping model. This change has been inspired by the success other resellers have seen with bulk cards and free shipping. Initially, I was hesitant due to my established branding, but I realize that in business, it's essential to embrace change and explore opportunities that may yield better results.

Leveraging eBay Standard Envelope for Low-End Cards

When it comes to shipping low-end cards, there's an excellent cost-saving option available – eBay Standard Envelope for the three-ounce rate. Previously, I had set my shipping costs slightly higher due to technical issues and my location in Utah. However, as eBay Standard Envelope has become more prevalent and I've relocated to Nevada, I can comfortably price low-end card shipments at the one-ounce rate, which cuts down shipping costs. I plan to adopt this approach, charging a dollar fifty for shipping low-end cards, which will not only attract more buyers but also increase the probability of daily sales ranging from 50 to 100 cards.

Focusing on Sports Cards and Niche Items

As I navigate the reselling landscape, I've realized the significance of focusing on my passions – sports cards, toys, clothing, and niche items. Garage sale season presents an excellent opportunity to source unique and valuable items to list on eBay and offer through platforms like whatnot. With the help of my stepdaughter and her boyfriend, who handle shipping and photography, I'll be able to streamline the process and ensure consistent listings. By narrowing my focus and indulging in my preferred categories, I aim to Create a more enjoyable reselling experience for myself and offer high-quality items that resonate with my buyers.

Seeking Feedback and Embracing Change

Before we wrap up this video, I want to appeal to all of You watching for your feedback and thoughts. The decision to transition from the "plus shipping" model to free shipping for certain listings is a significant change for me. While I'm confident in this shift, I genuinely value your perspective. Do you think it's a good idea? Are there any other insights or suggestions you'd like to share? Your feedback will help Shape my reselling Journey moving forward, and I appreciate each and every comment you leave.

Thank you for joining me in this reselling conversation. I hope you found my thoughts and updates insightful. Stay tuned for more videos where I'll share my recent sales, experiences, and Delve deeper into the world of sports cards. I appreciate your support and look forward to thriving together in the reselling community!
