Introduction
In today's video, I will Show You how to Create your own deep fake using only one image. We will be using a software called Droop, which is a user-friendly tool that allows you to create deep fakes quickly and easily. This tutorial will guide you through the installation process and provide step-by-step instructions on how to create a deep fake from start to finish.
Requirements
Before we get started, there is one requirement you need to meet in order to follow this tutorial. You must have Windows 10 or Windows 11 installed on your computer. If you meet this requirement, we can proceed with the installation of the Droop software and start creating deep fakes.
Installation
To install the Droop software, we will be using a GitHub repository that simplifies the installation process. Follow the steps below to install Droop on your computer.
Step 1: Download the Repository
The first thing you need to do is go to the repository's GitHub page. I have created this repository to make the installation process easier for you. In the repository, you will find all the necessary files and libraries required for the installation. You can find the link to the repository in the description below the video.
Step 2: Extract the Downloaded Folder
Once you have downloaded the repository as a zip Archive, navigate to the folder where it was downloaded and extract the Contents. You can do this by opening the zip archive and transferring the extracted folder to a separate location on your computer. It is important to keep these files in a separate folder to avoid deleting any important files or folders.
Step 3: Run the Launch Group.bat File
Inside the extracted folder, you will find two batch files: "full_install_reinstall.bat" and "launch_group.bat". For this tutorial, we will be using the "launch_group.bat" file, as it automatically installs the Droop software. The "full_install_reinstall.bat" file is only necessary if you have made modifications to the software and need to revert to the default settings.
Before running the batch file, ensure that both batch files are in a separate folder to prevent any accidental deletion of files. Once you have confirmed this, open the "launch_group.bat" file. Your computer's antivirus software may display a warning, but you can proceed by clicking on "More Info" and then "Run Anyway". Grant administrative privileges when prompted.
Step 4: Select the Source Image
After running the batch file, a console window will open, displaying a warning message. This message states that all files and folders in the Current directory will be permanently deleted. Make sure that the batch files are in a separate folder, as everything surrounding them will be deleted.
Once you have confirmed that no important files will be affected, Type "yes" as instructed and press enter. This will initiate the installation process, which may take 5 to 10 minutes, depending on your computer's speed. You can monitor the progress in the console window.
Step 5: Select the Destination Video
Once the installation is complete, the Droop software will open, prompting you to select a device to run the model on. If you have an Nvidia GPU, enter "1"; if you have an AMD GPU or prefer to use CPU, enter "2". The software will then open, and you can proceed to the next step.
In order to create a deep fake, you will need a source image and a destination video. The source image is the face you want to deep fake, while the destination video is where the face will be placed. Click on the "Select Face" button and choose the source image from your computer. Repeat the process by clicking on the "Select Target" button and choosing the destination video.
Step 6: Adjust the Settings
Before proceeding with the rendering process, it is important to understand and adjust the settings according to your preferences. The software offers several toggles and options that control the deep fake creation process.
The "Key Target FPS" toggle allows you to maintain the original frames per Second (FPS) of the destination video. It is recommended to leave this option enabled to preserve the video's audio quality. The "Skip Temporary Frames" toggle determines whether the temporary frames created during processing will be saved or deleted. Enabling this toggle can be useful if you want to further edit the frames.
The "Skip Target Audio" toggle controls whether the audio from the destination video will be included in the output deep fake video. It is advisable to keep this toggle off to ensure the audio is retained. Lastly, the "Many Faces" toggle determines how the software identifies and applies deep fake to multiple faces in a video. Enabling this toggle allows for deep faking multiple faces in a single video.
Step 7: Start the Rendering Process
Once you have adjusted the settings according to your preferences, you are ready to start the rendering process. Click on the "Start" button and enter a file name for the output deep fake video. This name will be used to save the final result. Press enter to begin the rendering process.
The software will create a temporary folder containing all the frames of the deep fake video. If you enabled the "Skip Temporary Frames" toggle, this folder will be deleted once the video is complete. If the toggle is disabled, you can access the individual frames for further processing.
Step 8: View the Output
After the rendering process is complete, you can view the output deep fake video. The software will display a preview of the final result. If you are satisfied with the output, you can save the video and use it as desired. If further adjustments are necessary, you can make edits or Apply masks to refine the deep fake.
Conclusion
Creating a deep fake using only one image is now a simple and accessible process thanks to the Droop software. By following the steps outlined in this tutorial, you can successfully install the software and create your own deep fakes with ease. Remember to use this technology responsibly and ethically.
