Introduction

Welcome to this step-by-step tutorial on creating unique designs using Adobe Illustrator. In this video, I will Show You how to Create a stunning design with a wavy text effect and halftone dot pattern. By following these instructions, you'll be able to create your own eye-catching designs that are perfect for social media platforms like TikTok. So let's get started!

Setting up the Canvas

To begin, open Adobe Illustrator and start with a blank canvas. Make sure to have your color palette ready, along with the respective color codes. This will allow you to use the exact colors I'm using or choose your own.

Designing the Text Layout

Using the text tool, Type out the words you want to use for your design. Consider using two lines of text for a visually appealing composition. If you like the font I'm using, I will provide a link to it in the description below.

After typing the text, Align it to the center of the canvas for a balanced layout.

Creating the Wavy Effect

To achieve the wavy effect, select the text and Outline the font by pressing Shift + Command + O. Then, go to Object > Compound Path and make.

Next, go to Effect > Warp > Wave. Adjust the bend and options to achieve the desired wavy effect. Around 70 is a good starting point, but feel free to experiment.

Adjusting the Size and Color

Once you're satisfied with the wavy effect, stretch the design a bit to give it a squared look. Go to Object > Expand Appearance.

To color the design, select it and choose a lighter pink shade. This will be useful when we create duplicates later on.

Duplicating and Blending the Design

To create duplicates of the design, copy it and move it to the side. Make two copies in total.

Select the original design and copy it behind itself by pressing Command + C, followed by Command + B. This will create a duplicate below the original design. Next, reduce the size of the duplicated design to make it smaller and a darker shade of pink.

To Blend the two designs, select them both and go to Object > Blend > Make. Then, go to Object > Blend > Blend Options. Adjust the specified steps to around 60 for a visually pleasing effect.

Adding a Background

Create a Blue rectangle using the Rectangle Tool. Move it below all the other layers to act as a background. Ensure that the blue rectangle is selected and hit I on your keyboard to fill it with the blue color.

Creating Halftone Dot Effect

To create a halftone dot effect, use two different-sized circles. Align them and leave some spacing between them.

Select the circles and go to Object > Blend > Make. Then, go to Object > Blend > Blend Options. Adjust the specified steps until the circles are almost touching at the bottom. Click OK once you're done.

Next, go to Effect > Distort and Transform > Transform. Make 100 copies of the dots and adjust their horizontal positioning to create spacing.

Adding Additional Design Elements

To enhance the design further, import the "Get Rowdy" design and color it differently for better visibility.

Position the "Get Rowdy" design above the halftone dots and adjust its size to match the top and bottom of the main design.

Applying Gradient and Stroke Effects

Apply a gradient effect to the halftone dots. Go to the Gradient Panel and select the desired colors for the dots. Adjust the gradient using the gradient tool (G) to achieve the desired fade effect.

Create a white stroke around the Second design for a cool pop effect. Adjust the stroke width to approximately three points.

Finalizing the Design

Remain consistent with your design choices and ensure everything is well-aligned. Center the second design on top of the other layers for a visually appealing composition.

Kill the fill of the second design and only leave the white stroke. Move it slightly to the right and down for a dynamic look.

Congratulations! You've created a stunning design with a wavy text effect and halftone dot pattern.
