Building the City of Mana: A Fantasy Themed Lot
Welcome back to another speed build on my Channel! In this video, I will be showcasing the creation of the City of Mana, a fantasy themed lot in The Sims 4. If You're a fan of building fantasy structures and objects, you're in for a treat. Join me as I take you through the process of building this magical city from scratch, without using any custom content. The City of Mana is a 50x50 lot located in OASIS Springs, and it can be downloaded from my gallery. So without further ado, let's dive into the speed build!
Experimenting with the Round Decks
Before diving into the main construction of the City of Mana, I decided to experiment with round decks. I wanted to Create multiple levels with platforms, but soon realized that platforms wouldn't be the best option. Undeterred, I started again and began by placing the outcome of my first practices. To add decorative elements to the round decks, I used steam gates from Get Together and stone arcs from Jungle Adventure. I also incorporated sand colored items, such as the tent from Get Famous and the room divider from City Living, for extra Detail. I placed trims using a Get Together shelf and ornamental trims from Jungle Adventure. To add a touch of elegance, I used benches from Vampires as ornamental details on the exterior walls and roof. The finishing touch was a fountain trim.
Creating the Rounded Staircases
One of the most eye-catching details in the City of Mana is the rounded staircases. To create these unique staircases, I arranged a debug stone post in a curved Shape. It took some trial and error, but with a little patience, I was able to Align the debug stone on the desired curve. Each step of the staircase is 0.25 tiles high, and to create the desired shape, I had to elevate and rotate the stone posts using the tool mod. Once the staircase was complete, I aligned them under the main structure to create a visually pleasing uniform shape on both sides.
Adding Water Features and Bridges
To enhance the magical atmosphere of the City of Mana, I decided to include water features and bridges. I resized the Island Living waterfall and placed it between the round deck and the building on the left side. I then created a pool underneath the waterfall and added a bridge using platforms. The use of a window from Discover University on the pool below created an amazing frame for the bridge. I also added railings from Get Together, which were rotated to create a round shape. The round deck on the right side of the build was decorated with a Spade waterfall, stone arcs from Jungle Adventure, and Blue tinted windows to intensify the color of the waterfalls.
Customizing Windows and Details
During the creation process, I noticed that the available windows didn't fit the aesthetics of the build. To address this, I decided to create custom windows using the cutout feature from windows and doors. By resizing the windows, I was able to create an open window effect, leaving a hole in the wall. To frame these custom windows, I used resized stone posts that I had previously used for the spiral staircases. This created a unique framed window design that perfectly matched the overall theme of the build. I saved these custom window frames as rooms and duplicated them to place them around the different buildings.
Filling Up the Lot with Buildings
Once the foundational elements were in place, it was time to fill up the lot with buildings. I made use of pre-made rooms to expedite the process and ensure consistency in style. The placement of these buildings was guided by aesthetic considerations and the desired layout of the City of Mana. I also continued to customize windows and add more details to the buildings. The goal was to create a harmonious composition that flowed seamlessly throughout the entire lot.
Decorating the Buildings and Adding Functionality
With the buildings in place, it was time to decorate and add functionality to the City of Mana. I added ornamental items, such as lamps and fountains, to enhance the overall magical theme. I also incorporated different elements, such as rocks and railings, to create visually appealing details. Additionally, I created functional staircases to connect the various levels of the city and added custom window animations using Dust mesh from the City Living pack.
The Interior and Usage of the Lot
While the focus of this speed build was on the exterior construction of the City of Mana, the interiors of the buildings were also given Attention. Although I kept the interior design relatively simple, it still complements the overall theme of the build. The buildings on the lot can be accessed, making it suitable for various uses, such as a park, spa, or residence. With some adjustments, this versatile lot can be tailored to suit different gameplay styles.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the City of Mana is a remarkable fantasy-themed lot that seamlessly combines creativity, functionality, and magic. I thoroughly enjoyed experimenting with round decks, creating rounded staircases, and customizing windows to make this build truly unique. The process was both challenging and rewarding, resulting in a visually stunning city that can be enjoyed in The Sims 4. Whether it's exploring the enchanting water features, admiring the intricate details, or simply indulging in the magical ambiance, the City of Mana offers a truly immersive experience.
