Vacuum and Mop Your Floors with Ease: A Comprehensive Review of the Deebot Neo

The Deebot Neo has been making waves in the market as Ecovac's most powerful yet cost-effective robot vacuum. Priced at $799, this compact device promises smart and powerful cleaning capabilities. In this review, we will thoroughly test and assess the vacuuming performance, mopping performance, and smart features of the Deebot Neo. Additionally, we will provide pricing details and discuss the compatible accessories available for this robot vacuum.

Vacuuming Performance

  1. Testing on Carpet

We conducted extensive testing on both carpet and vinyl flooring to evaluate the Deebot Neo's vacuuming performance. On carpet, we observed that the Deebot Neo offered four different vacuuming modes: Quiet, Standard, Max, and Max Plus. In our tests, we found that the Standard mode required multiple runs to effectively pick up sugar and cornflakes. The Max mode performed better, with fewer leftovers. However, we noticed that pet hair tended to scatter outside the test area. The Max Plus mode performed similarly to the Max mode but completed the cleaning at a faster rate. We also noticed some challenges with pet hair on vinyl flooring, where the air vents pushed the hair away from the vacuum. Overall, the Deebot Neo demonstrated satisfactory vacuuming performance on both carpet and vinyl flooring.

  2. Testing on Vinyl Flooring

On vinyl flooring, we observed that the Deebot Neo handled cornflakes better than sugar. However, both substances still required a Second go for a thorough clean. The vacuuming performance was affected by the powerful air vents, which pushed the cornflakes around more on vinyl flooring. It's worth noting that the Deebot Neo performed better on sugar than on cornflakes when using stronger settings. During the testing process, we also discovered that bits of food could get trapped underneath the vacuum surrounds and docking station, requiring occasional cleaning.

    Pros:

    • Effective cleaning performance on carpet and vinyl flooring.
    • Multiple vacuuming modes to choose from.
    • Strong suction power.

    Cons:

    • Pet hair may scatter outside the test area.
    • Cornflakes can be pushed around on vinyl flooring.

    Tips for Vacuuming Pet Hair:

    • Avoid using high vacuuming settings to prevent blowing the hair away.
    • Use virtual boundaries strategically to allow the vacuum to clean hair on later passes.
    • Pick up larger balls of pet hair manually before vacuuming for better results.
