High Frame Rate Plus and Ultra Low Latency: Pushing the Performance of Your LED Screen

LED screens have come a long way in terms of performance and features. Bronton Technology introduces two cutting-edge features, High Frame Rate Plus and Ultra Low Latency, to elevate the performance of LED screens to new heights.

High Frame Rate Plus

High Frame Rate Plus is a revolutionary feature that delivers video playback at up to 250 frames per second. With this high frame rate, motion becomes incredibly smooth, with reduced artifacts. It is especially beneficial for fast-paced events like esports, where high frame rate playback enhances the overall viewing experience.

Ultra Low Latency

Ultra Low Latency is another advanced feature offered by Bronton Technology. It significantly reduces the end-to-end latency of our processors, cutting it down to just one frame. This feature is crucial for industries such as broadcast, television, and film, where synchronizing live action and tracked camera movement with an LED backdrop is essential.

These exclusive features are available on the Tessera SX40 and S8 LED processors and require PC-Based sources that respect the processor's extended display identification data (EDID). While these processors natively support playback of up to 60 frames per second, enabling the High Frame Rate Plus feature allows them to reach up to 250 frames per second.

It's important to note that High Frame Rate Plus is only supported on HDMI 2.0 inputs. Additionally, increasing the frame rate results in a reduction of the maximum pixel capacity of the video input. For example, doubling the frame rate to 120 frames per second halves the maximum pixel capacity, while increasing it to 144 frames per second results in a 2.4 times reduction. Similarly, a frame rate of 250 frames per second leads to a 4.2 times reduction in maximum pixel capacity.

Configuring the High Frame Rate Plus feature is straightforward. Using the Tessera software interface, You can set your desired resolution and frame rate from the canvas properties. Once the appropriate combination is selected, the processor creates a custom edit for your source, ensuring optimal results.

To enable the Ultra Low Latency feature, simply check the Ultra Low Latency checkbox in the canvas properties. However, enabling this feature also results in a reduction of the pixel output capacity of the processor. It is crucial to have a video source that respects the processor's EDID. When used together, High Frame Rate Plus and Ultra Low Latency deliver exceptional performance, although the pixel capacity is reduced.

By utilizing a 250-hertz frame rate, you can achieve a system latency of just four milliseconds, making it ideal for applications where minimizing latency is critical. Furthermore, both features can be combined with the processor's gen lock feature, providing a comprehensive solution for broadcast, live television, and filming sets.

In addition to High Frame Rate Plus and Ultra Low Latency, Bronton Technology offers a range of other advanced features. The gen lock feature allows for seamless synchronization of multiple LED processors, ensuring a smooth viewing experience. On-screen color adjustment provides easy and precise control over uniformity on LED walls, enhancing the overall visual output.

In conclusion, Bronton Technology's High Frame Rate Plus and Ultra Low Latency features bring a new level of performance to LED screens. These cutting-edge features offer smooth motion, reduced latency, and synchronization capabilities, making them invaluable for a wide range of industries and applications.
