Introduction

Hey everyone! Prosek here, and I'm back with a new video for You after a long break. I've just recovered from being sick, and I can finally share with you my new journal collection. This collection is also a design team project for Dreams at Syria. I've always loved working with their digital collections, and in this video, I'll be showcasing some of the charms and stamps that I've used for this collection. So, let's dive in!

The Inspiration Behind the Journal Collection

I've always been fascinated by the whimsical world of Alice in Wonderland, and it served as the main inspiration for this journal collection. The enchanting characters, vibrant colors, and magical landscapes all played a role in shaping the designs of these journals. I wanted to Create something different from my usual junk journals, and you'll see the unique elements in a moment.

The Design Team Collaboration

I had the pleasure of collaborating with Dreams at Syria for this project. Their digital collection of Alice in Wonderland images perfectly complemented my vision for the journals. If you're interested in checking out their collections, I'll provide a link to their Website in the description box below. You can also find the digital collection of Alice on their Etsy page.

The Stamps Used in the Collection

To bring the characters to life, I used the Mad Hatter Tea Party and Alice in Armchair stamps. These stamps captured the essence of the story and added a touch of Whimsy to the journals. I also incorporated beautiful white rabbit plates into the design, which were a delightful addition to the collection.

The Materials and Embellishments

I wanted to use natural elements in the journals to enhance their Charm. For the bindings, I used natural hemp cord, which not only added a rustic feel but also felt great to touch. The beads I used were generously provided by my dear friend Julia Severus. They perfectly matched the collection and added a pop of color. I used black and white beads and also incorporated some Blue ones to create a harmonious Blend of hues.

The Journal Designs

Now, let's take a closer look at each of the journals in the collection. I put a lot of time and love into designing them, and I'm excited to share the details with you.

The Alice Journal

The first journal in the collection is dedicated to Alice herself. I wanted to preserve Jennifer's original digital design for this journal, as it beautifully captured the essence of Alice's Journey. I simply added an additional image and secured it with Mod Podge for durability. The journal features crochet trims, various ribbons, and vintage lace to give it a whimsical touch. The coffee-dyed paper gives it a grungy, aged look, which perfectly complements the theme.

The Queen Journal

Next up is the Queen journal, which showcases the regal charm of the Red Queen. I incorporated red roses, paper roses, and a key charm to embody her character. The black and white color scheme combined with the vibrant red accents creates a striking visual appeal. The charms and embellishments add an extra layer of intricacy to this journal.

The Mad Hatter Journal

The Mad Hatter journal is a celebration of the whimsy and eccentricity of this beloved character. Blue and white elements dominate the design, evoking a Sense of Curiosity and wonder. The journal features vintage lace, stamps, and various charms that represent the Mad Hatter's playful nature. The center of the journal includes a pop-up element that adds a delightful surprise when you flip through the pages.

The White Rabbit Journal

Last but not least, we have the White Rabbit journal. This journal embodies the essence of time and urgency. Vintage lace, clocks, and pocket watches are incorporated throughout the design. The pastel color palette adds a touch of softness and elegance to the journal. It also includes a ribbon closure and Hidden pockets to cater to your journaling needs.

The Journal Construction Process

Each journal in the collection is carefully handcrafted and unique. I used a cereal box as the base for the covers and covered them with craft color cardstock. The images were then added using Mod Podge for a secure and long-lasting finish. The stitching down the center of the journals ensures their durability.

The Unique Features of the Journals

One of the unique aspects of these journals is that they feature a double-sided design. When you open them, you'll find two journals side by side, reminiscent of a little treasure trove. This provides ample space for you to express your creativity and thoughts. The closures incorporate ribbons that match the collection, adding a touch of elegance.
