In our Current location, We Are fortunate to be surrounded by the last remnants of ancient forests in Norway. These forests, untouched by human intervention, hold a special allure and serve as an endless source of inspiration. The pressure to make the most of the fleeting warm days dissipates, allowing us to embrace the gentle transition into the colder months. In the midst of the usual ups and downs of life, a feeling of directionlessness has dissipated, replaced by a surge of projects and newfound enthusiasm. It is against this backdrop that we find ourselves in Ros, the closest town to our home, preparing for a unique September shop opening. When I first arrived here, I had no idea that such ancient ecosystems existed. Most of the forests in the region are considered productive forests, subject to regular logging. However, the truly untouched ancient forests, where human presence and tree removal are nonexistent, are a rarity. These hidden treasures are often tucked away in the most inaccessible areas, such as swampy landscapes or rocky terrains. It has been Yim's mission this summer to Seek out these ancient forests and study them, gathering inspiration for his art.
