Building a Highly Detailed Entrance for Planet Zoo

Welcome back to another episode of Planet Zoo! In this series, We Are creating a zoo Based on the Brevard Zoo in Florida. Today, we will be focusing on building the entrance area and adding custom vegetation to enhance the overall ambiance. So, let's dive in and bring our zoo to life!

For this project, I drew inspiration from the Brevard Zoo in Melbourne, Florida. Using Google Earth, I compared the actual zoo to our Planet Zoo version and found some striking similarities. The main building, which serves as the entrance, needed some adjustments to accurately recreate the original structure. After making a few changes, such as adding proper supports and improving the signage, I was satisfied with the result.

3. Building the Entrance

The entrance building is about 50% complete at this stage. I decided to modify the roof design as the original concept didn't meet my expectations. By deleting the old structure and replacing it with new walls, I was able to achieve a more visually appealing entrance. The new walls, consisting of multiple pieces, added a level of Detail that was lacking before. Although not highly intricate, they greatly improved the overall appearance.

4. Customizing the Vegetation

To enhance the realism and capture the essence of the Everglades in Florida, I spent time creating custom bald cypress trees with intricate root systems. These trees allow for easy duplication, enabling us to fill the empty spaces throughout the zoo. Additionally, I added more vegetation to the pond area near the front entrance. While there is still work to be done in terms of adding vegetation throughout the entire zoo, progress is being made.

5. Adding the Information Kiosk

Next on our list is the information kiosk. I wanted to replicate the kiosk seen at the Brevard Zoo as closely as possible. After experimenting with creating a custom interior, I ultimately decided to use the "Info Booth" facility from the game. This solution provided a realistic representation of an information kiosk and saved us the time and effort of building a detailed interior from scratch.

6. Adjustments and Tweaks

With the kiosk in place, it was time to make some final adjustments and tweaks. I wanted to ensure that the colors and textures matched the original design as closely as possible. After some trial and error, we achieved a close approximation of the desired colors. With each wall and window meticulously adjusted, the entrance area was starting to look impressive.
