Introduction
Welcome to this guide on how to set up text-to-speech for your Kick streams! In this tutorial, we will walk you through the process of connecting your Kick account to Botricks Live, configuring the settings, and testing the text-to-speech feature. Let's get started!
Setting up Text-to-Speech for Kick Streams
To set up text-to-speech for your Kick streams, you will need to follow a few simple steps. First, we will log in to Botricks Live. Then, we will connect our Kick account and switch the platform to Kick. Finally, we will enable the voice messages feature and configure its settings.
Logging in to Botricks Live
Before we can start setting up text-to-speech, we need to log in to Botricks Live. Please note that Botricks Live does not support direct login with your Kick account. Instead, you will need to log in with your Twitch, YouTube, Trovo, or Discord account. Once logged in, we can proceed to connect our Kick account.
Connecting Kick Account to Botrick
After logging in to Botricks Live with one of the supported accounts, we can connect our Kick account. To do this, navigate to the profile tab and scroll down to the Kick section. Click on the "Sign in with Kick" button and enter your Kick username. If your username contains underscores, replace them with dashes. Accept the terms and proceed to the next step.
Changing Language Settings
By default, Botricks Live may display the interface in Spanish. To ensure a smooth experience, check the top right corner of the page and change the language to English or your preferred language. Now that we have connected our Kick account, we can proceed to make Bot Rex a moderator.
Adding Bot Rex as a Moderator
To allow Bot Rex to function properly, we need to grant it the moderator role on Kick. Copy the message requesting the moderator role, click Continue, and navigate to your Kick Creator dashboard. Go to the community section and select "Moderators." Click on "Add New" and paste the message containing Bot Rex's information. Confirm the addition, and now Bot Rex is a moderator for your Kick account.
Connecting Kick Account to Bot Rex
After successfully adding Bot Rex as a moderator, return to the previous page on Botricks Live. You will see a link that needs to be sent as a message. Copy the link, navigate to the chat room, and send the message. Wait for the confirmation message stating that your account has been successfully linked. If you encounter any issues during this process, there is a support option available.
Switching Platform to Kick
Now, let's switch the platform from Twitch to Kick. Go to the profile tab and click on the green settings button under the Kick section. This will ensure that any changes we make to alerts or chat bot settings will Apply to our Kick account. With the platform set correctly, let's proceed to set up our text-to-speech feature.
Setting up Text-to-Speech for Chat
While alerts do not currently support text-to-speech for Kick, we can still enable it for chat messages. Navigate to the chat bot section in the left-HAND menu. If prompted, ensure that Bot Rex is modded. Then, go to the modules tab and locate the "Voice Messages" option. Enable this feature to activate text-to-speech for chat.
Enabling Voice Messages
To enable voice messages, make sure the Voice Messages option is set to green. This option can be found under the modules tab. Green indicates that the feature is enabled. If it is not already enabled, click on the setup button and follow the instructions. Pay Attention to the settings, as they determine how and when the text-to-speech feature will be used.
Configuring Voice Message Settings
In the voice messages settings, you can customize various options. You can choose the language and the voice that will be used for the text-to-speech feature. Additionally, you can specify who can use this feature (such as followers, subscribers, or VIPs), set a delay and character limit, and even add a text template to be Read before each message. Adjust these settings according to your preferences.
Testing Text-to-Speech
Once you have configured the voice message settings, it's time to test the text-to-speech feature. Open your Kick stream and ensure that your Bot Rex is connected. Type a message with the designated command (e.g., "!s") followed by the message you want to be read aloud. Check the audio bars and confirm that the message is being read out using text-to-speech. Remember to adjust the volume setting to your preference.
Important Reminders
There are a few important reminders to keep in mind when using text-to-speech for Kick streams. Firstly, remember that the audio output comes from your Chrome tab, so it will continue playing even if you are logged out of your stream. Don't forget to deactivate the feature when you are done streaming. Also, remember that the audio output uses your desktop audio, so adjust your settings accordingly.
