Introduction
Hey everybody, Chad Wesley Smith here. I wanted to take a moment to give You an overview of my current training program and how I am setting up my next program using the Juggernaut AI app. In this article, I will discuss my experience with the Juggernaut BJJ app, my goals for maximal strength training, and the importance of combining jiu-jitsu with strength training. I will also share insights into my user experience with the Juggernaut AI app, as well as provide information about my personal details and goals. Additionally, I will touch upon the topics of nutritional tracking, historical training workload, recovery ability, sleep, lifestyle factors, and the importance of bridge blocks in training. Finally, I will explain the structure of my program, the concept of periodization, and provide updates on my training progress.
Overview of Current Training Program
Before diving into the details of my next program setup, let me give you a brief overview of my current training program. Over the past six weeks, I have been using the Juggernaut BJJ app's lifestyle program. During this time, I have focused on lifts such as deadlifts, bench presses, and squats. I am happy to report that I have seen significant progress in my lifts. For instance, I recently deadlifted 220 kilos for seven repetitions, benched 175 kilos for a triple, and squatted 230 kilos for a set of five. These lifts mark a significant milestone for me as they surpass the 500-pound mark, which I have not achieved in the past two years.
Setting up the Juggernaut AI App
Now that I have completed the six-week program on the Juggernaut BJJ app, I am ready to transition to a more maximal strength training program. However, before I do that, I want to familiarize myself with the user experience of the Juggernaut AI app. Although I have been using the app, I have not utilized its full potential to guide my training. Therefore, I plan to spend some time understanding the features and functionalities of the app better.
To set up my next program, I will start with a full reset of the app. This will allow me to input my personal details and preferences accurately. I will provide information such as my date of birth, weight, and Height. Additionally, I will track my nutritional intake, aiming to maintain my current weight. As someone who enjoys food and beer, maintaining a balance between fitness goals and indulgence is essential to me.
Juggernaut BJJ App Experience
During the past six weeks, I have thoroughly enjoyed using the Juggernaut BJJ app and its lifestyle program. However, since I am not aiming to compete in powerlifting, my training style has been slightly different. I have been lifting three days a week, focusing on low-volume training. This approach aligns well with my recovery ability, which I would classify as moderate. Although I used to handle high workloads during my peak powerlifting career, my training capacity has slightly decreased due to other physical activities such as jiu-jitsu and golf.
Despite the differences in workout frequency and volume, the lifestyle program has been beneficial in helping me maintain a balance between jiu-jitsu and strength training. I have also noticed improvements in my overall strength and fitness levels. As I have gained confidence in handling HEAVIER weights and recovering well from workouts, I feel ready to pursue a more focused strength training program.
Maximal Strength Training
Now that I am transitioning from the lifestyle program, my primary focus will be on maximal strength training. However, it is essential to note that my goals are not solely centered on powerlifting. Since I have had a micro discectomy back surgery in January 2021, I am cautious about pushing myself excessively. Therefore, my objective is to gain more understanding of my current strength levels and further improve them rather than competing in powerlifting meets.
Besides strength training, I will Continue to train in jiu-jitsu alongside my strength training program. This combination allows me to maintain a well-rounded approach to fitness and utilize the benefits of both disciplines. By incorporating jiu-jitsu, I can enhance my overall athleticism, mobility, and functional strength.
User Experience with the Juggernaut AI App
As I Mentioned earlier, I have been using the Juggernaut AI app, but not to its full potential. Now that I am dedicating myself to the app's guidance, I am excited to evaluate the user experience and see how it influences my training. The app's algorithm takes into account factors such as my historical training workload, recovery ability, sleep habits, and lifestyle factors to Create a customized program for me.
To provide the app with accurate data, I will answer questions related to my lifting experience, recovery ability, and lifestyle factors. This will assist the app in tailoring the program precisely to my needs. By using the Juggernaut AI app to its fullest extent, I hope to optimize my training and achieve the best results.
Personal Information and Goals
Before diving deeper into the program setup, let me share some personal information and goals. My birthday is on July 5th, 1986, and I currently weigh around 140 kilos. Although I acknowledge that I should ideally be lighter, my love for beer and food has contributed to my current weight. I enjoy the taste of good food and drinks, which is why I prioritize balance over extreme leanness.
