Marks Comic Call Y'all: New this week haul
Welcome back to another episode of Mark's Comic Call Y'all! This week's haul is a rather small one, as I didn't manage to get my hands on many books. However, there are a few Gems that I want to share with You. So, without further ado, let's dive into this week's comic book haul!
DC Comics
I'll start with DC Comics, where I only managed to pick up one book this week. I Skipped out on Batman Fear State, but I am considering going back to grab it. However, I did get my hands on the Harley Quinn Annual. This special issue features the first full appearance of a new character called Keepsake. It seems like Keepsake is being set up as a regular villain for Harley Quinn, so this book might fly under the radar for many readers. If you can find the Derek Chew cover, I recommend picking it up for potential future value.
Marvel Comics
Moving on to Marvel Comics, I was able to grab a few more books. Avengers #48 caught my Attention, as it features the first full appearance of Winter Red Hulk. This issue is building up to something big and might be worth adding to your collection. Additionally, I managed to get my hands on the Miles Morales 10th Anniversary variant cover, which I'm quite happy about. I also picked up Captain Marvel #32, which introduces the return of the Dark Captain Marvel and kicks off a storyline called "Last of the Marvels." Lastly, I got the Scotty Young variant cover for Dark Ages. This issue introduces a new all-powerful character, and the cover art by Scotty Young is simply fantastic.
Independent Comics
In the realm of independent comics, I picked up a few interesting titles. First up is the new Red Sonja #1. This issue, written by Mirka Andolfo, introduces a new character named Sitha, who is expected to play a significant role in future storylines. The Josepf Michael Linsner cover caught my eye and is definitely worth checking out. Another title I grabbed is Spawn #321, featuring the McFarlane cover. I found this to be the most appealing cover of the three available options.
I also picked up Sweet Paprika #2, which is an adults-only comic. The Stefan Sedgic cover for this issue is highly anticipated, but unfortunately, my shop did not have it in stock yet. However, I'll keep an eye out for it in the coming weeks. Lastly, I couldn't pass up the Jenny Frison variant cover for Undiscovered Country #15. This cover sold out quickly, so I was lucky to grab a couple of copies.
Recent Back Issues
While browsing through the back issues, a few titles caught my attention. Avengers: Infinite Destinies Annual #1 features Iron Man and Captain America and introduces a powerful new villain named Multitude. This issue is generating some buzz, and it's worth adding to your collection. Additionally, I stumbled upon the Batman Free Comic Book Day Special Edition #1. This variant cover by Mikasuyan is quite rare, and I managed to snag a copy at a fair price. It's always exciting to come across these special edition books!
Conclusion
That wraps up this week's small comic book haul. Although it may not have been a massive haul, there were still some noteworthy titles worth mentioning. I hope you found this episode of Mark's Comic Call Y'all informative and entertaining. Stay tuned for more exciting updates and happy reading!
