Reflecting on 2023
Before we dive into setting new goals, let's take a moment to reflect on what we've accomplished in 2023. Personally, I've been busier than ever with my writing projects. I completed the Second draft of my debut Novel, "Ghost Side," and even began the querying process for traditional publishing. However, after months of unsuccessful attempts, I made the decision to explore self-publishing. Along the way, I've embarked on other exciting projects, such as "Project O" and "Project BB," which have allowed me to explore different genres and styles of writing. I've also been brainstorming a new distraction project called "Project Samson." With all these experiences, I've gained Clarity on my priorities and discovered where my true passion lies.
Writing Projects in 2023
In 2023, I worked on a variety of writing projects. As Mentioned earlier, my main focus was on my debut novel, "Ghost Side." Editing this book has been a significant undertaking, but I'm determined to see it through. To break down this goal, I've set some sub-goals for myself. These include rewriting the journal entries, finishing the proofreading process, and adding some new scenes that I recently brainstormed. By breaking down the editing process into smaller tasks, it becomes less overwhelming and more manageable.
Another goal I have for 2023 is to dive deeper into poetry. I believe that writing poetry allows me to process my emotions and Create a Meaningful connection with my readers. Therefore, I aim to create a poetry collection during December, as it provides a perfect opportunity for introspection and exploration.
Goals for the End of 2023
As we approach the end of 2023, it's essential to set clear goals to make the most of the remaining time. One of my primary objectives is to reach 10K followers on Instagram. I'm currently at 9.2K, so hitting this milestone would be a significant achievement. To accomplish this, I plan to create engaging content related to "Ghost Side" and focus on building a genuine connection with my audience.
Additionally, I want to expand my repertoire by creating new boards that showcase my writing. These boards will feature longer works, such as short stories, to share a different side of my writing. Recently, I shared a short story called "White Stockings," which received positive feedback. Encouraged by this response, I'm considering writing a sequel or exploring similar themes in future works.
Using WPS Office for Goal Setting
To effectively brainstorm and organize my goals, I rely on the amazing features of WPS Office. This all-in-one office app provides a secure space to store my work, ranging from presentations to uni assignments and manuscript drafts. One standout feature of WPS Office is its PDF editor. This tool allows me to annotate and edit PDF files, saving me the hassle of printing and manually editing physical copies.
Furthermore, WPS Office offers a vast collection of templates suited for various writing needs. Whether I need a poster, thumbnail, or manuscript document, WPS Office has a template to simplify the process. They even have an AI function that assists with brainstorming, making it easier to generate new ideas and bring stories to life.
Editing Project Ghost
Returning to my primary goal of editing "Ghost Side," I've established a writing routine to ensure progress. My plan is to commit to writing for at least two hours a day throughout December. While editing can be a messy process, this routine helps me maintain focus and make steady progress. I find that using the Pomodoro technique, where I write for an hour, take a short break, and then resume writing for another hour, provides a good balance and boosts productivity.
Writing Poetry
In addition to editing "Ghost Side," I'm also excited to dedicate time to writing poetry. This creative outlet allows me to Delve into my emotions and express myself in a different way. During December, I aim to create a poetry collection that reflects my innermost thoughts and experiences. By exploring the nuances of poetry, I can enhance my writing skills and connect with readers on a deeper level.
Content Creation Goals
As a content creator, I constantly strive to provide value to my audience. One of my goals is to reach the milestone of 10K followers on Instagram. This achievement opens up new opportunities and allows me to connect with a broader community of readers. Additionally, I plan to create more content related to "Ghost Side," sharing behind-the-scenes details and insights into the writing process. Furthermore, I aim to collaborate with other writers and content Creators through podcasts and interviews. These interactions foster creativity, inspire new ideas, and provide valuable perspectives for both myself and my audience.
Starting a Writing Routine
To maintain consistency and make progress on my writing goals, I plan to establish a writing routine. Starting in December, my aim is to dedicate two hours each day to writing. This loosely structured routine allows me the flexibility to work on various projects while maintaining a consistent writing practice. By introducing this routine early, I hope to build Momentum that will carry me through January, February, and beyond.
