In today's video, I'm going to be creating a makeup look using the Olive You Forever Eyeshadow Palette by Violet Vols. I received this palette from my BoxyCharm base box for January, and I'm excited to Show you the palette and also demonstrate how I created this look.

Overview of the Olive You Forever Eyeshadow Palette

Let's start with an overview of the palette. The packaging is simple yet elegant, made of cardboard. I personally love the name of the palette, "Olive You," it's so cute! However, when I first looked at the palette, I noticed that there wasn't much green, which is what I expect from an "olive" palette. It's actually more of a neutral palette with a few green tones. There are three shimmer shades in the palette, though one of them is supposed to have some Hidden green in it.

Swatching the Palette

Before diving into the tutorial, let's swatch the shades in the palette. Please note that shimmers may not pick up as well on camera, but you will still get an idea of how the shades swatch. We have an olive tone shimmer, a very green shimmer, and even a matte black. These swatches give us a glimpse of the colors we'll be working with.

Tutorial: Creating a Makeup Look

Using the Olive You Forever Palette

Now, let's get into the tutorial! Here's a step-by-step guide on how I created the makeup look using the Olive You Forever Palette.

Step 1: Priming the Eyelids

To ensure a long-lasting eyeshadow application, I started by priming my eyelids using the Nyx Eyeshadow Base in the shade white. I used my finger to Blend the base all over my eyelids, ensuring a smooth and even canvas for the eyeshadows.

Step 2: Buffing a Brown Shade into the Crease

Using a fluffy blending brush from Morphe, I dipped into the beautiful brown shade called "Infatuated." With gentle buffing motions, I applied the shade into my crease. The eyeshadow turned out to be more pigmented than expected, so I tapped off the excess onto the palette before blending it into my crease. The brush's Shape and bristles helped in placing the shadow precisely and blending it seamlessly, giving a natural look to the application.

Step 3: Applying Shimmer on the Inner Lid

Next, I wanted to incorporate the olive shimmers. Taking my pinky finger, I dipped it into the shimmer shade "Olive You," which appears to be silver but has Hints of green in it. I applied this shade to my inner lid, ensuring sufficient pigment. I used my finger for application but would later use a brush to perfect it.

Step 4: Adding Olive Shimmers to the Center and Outer Lid

For the center lid, I used a different finger to Apply the shimmer shade "Olive Me." This shade is a true olive shimmer and gives a stunning effect to the center lid. Then, using yet another finger, I applied the darkest green shade in the palette called "Alif Glow" to the outer lid. I wanted to ensure enough pigment, so I used my fingers initially but planned to use a brush later for refinement.

Step 5: Perfecting the Shimmer Application

To perfect the application of the shimmers, I used a small concealer brush from ELF Cosmetics. First, I dipped the brush into the silver-looking shimmer "Olive You" and applied it higher on my lid to Create a defined line. Then, I flipped the brush over and dipped into the other shimmer, "Olive Me," to perfect the application on the center lid. By carefully blending the shimmers, I aimed for a seamless transition between the crease and the lid, avoiding any harsh lines.

Step 6: Blending the Darkest Green into the Crease

Using another crease brush from ELF Cosmetics, I dipped into the darkest green shade, "Alif Glow," and applied it directly on top of the shadow applied earlier. Instead of blending it into the crease, I focused on merging it with the shimmer on the center lid. Blending is key here to avoid any visible lines and to create a Cohesive and seamless look.

Step 7: Creating Contrast with a Dark Brown Shadow

For added dimension and contrast, I switched to a crease brush from Morphe with a pointed tip. Using the darkest brown shade in the palette called "Charmed," I applied it to my outer corner, blending it upwards and into the crease. This shadow created the desired contrast and depth in the look. It was crucial to take my time during this step to ensure a well-blended and seamless transition.

Step 8: Final Touches - Lower Lash Line, Inner Corners, and Brow Bone

To complete the eye makeup, I reached for the flat lid brush from MOTD and dipped it into the dark green shimmer shade "Olive Glow." I applied it all over my lower lash line to incorporate more green into the look. Then, using my pinky finger, I dipped into the beautiful white shimmer shade "Major Spotlight" and applied it to my inner corners. I later used a brush to blend it nicely. Additionally, I applied the white shimmer shade underneath my brow bone to highlight and accentuate the brows.

And voilà, we have the final look!
