In this video, I will provide an overview of my recommended sequence of word study for new, intermediate, and advanced tournament players. Recommended Sequence of Word Study

I always recommend starting with two-letter words. Although there are only a hundred of them, they are incredibly important and provide a solid foundation for further learning. Once you have a good grasp of the two-letter words, you can move on to studying three-letter words. Start with the most useful three-letter words, as they will be the ones you encounter most frequently in games. There are approximately a thousand three-letter words in the Current Scrabble dictionary, so it may take some time to learn them, but they are worth the effort.

After mastering the three-letter words, it's time to dive into four-letter words and begin exploring bingos. Bingos are seven and eight-letter words that can score a significant number of points if played strategically. Many newer tournament players have not studied bingos extensively, so having even a small knowledge of some obscure bingos can give you an edge over your opponents. However, before delving into bingos, focus on mastering the most useful four-letter words.

Transitioning from the shorter words to longer ones, it's advisable to Continue studying five-letter words. Keep in mind that as words get longer, their usefulness decreases slightly because they are less likely to appear on the board. Nonetheless, some five-letter words are more common than others, and I have labeled them as "useful fives." By familiarizing yourself with these words, you can boost your scoring potential and maintain an AdVantage over other players.

Next, it's time to Deepen your understanding of bingos before finishing up with the remaining five-letter words. Bingos offer substantial scoring opportunities, and acquiring knowledge of more bingos will further enhance your game. Though there may be some overlap with the useful six-letter words, spend some time specifically studying and internalizing these words.

Finally, once you have covered the first 11 rows of the table, consisting of approximately 25,000 words, you will have a solid foundation to become an intermediate or advanced tournament player. However, if you aspire to become a top player, you will eventually need to familiarize yourself with the remaining 65,000 words listed in the table. In this series, we will primarily focus on the first 25,000 words, as mastering them is already a significant accomplishment.
