Life has been extremely busy, but I assure you that I have been working hard on various projects both at home and in the shop. So, let's dive in and see what I've been up to!
Apology to Viewers
First and foremost, I want to address my absence and apologize for not providing more videos and projects for you to enjoy. I understand that you look forward to my content and I truly appreciate the support and patience you have shown me. Please know that it was Never my intention to neglect my audience, but life's demands sometimes get the best of us.
Busy Schedule and Priorities
I've been juggling multiple responsibilities, including building play homes, working at a preschool, and tackling custodial tasks at my church. With such a packed schedule, finding the time to film and Create content for YouTube has been a challenge. After a long day of work, I often find myself exhausted and in need of rest. However, I am determined to find a better workflow that allows for more consistent uploads and engaging content.
Organization in the Garage Shop
One of the ongoing struggles in my garage shop has been maintaining organization. Despite popular belief, a two-car garage can quickly turn into a chaotic mess when used as a workshop. But, to my surprise, my garage is currently in one of its most organized states. This newfound Sense of order is largely thanks to the completion of my new miter station.
The New Miter Station
Over the past few months, I have been working on piecing together a miter station, one component at a time. The recent completion of the station has provided me with much-needed storage space and increased organization. The addition of drawers, upper cabinets, and a rearrangement of equipment has significantly improved the functionality and aesthetics of my garage shop.
Upgraded Clamp Wall
Another area of focus for me was the clamp wall. I wanted to create a more efficient system for storing and accessing my various clamps. To achieve this, I installed a series of French cleats along the wall, allowing me to easily hang and organize my clamps Based on frequency of use. This simple yet effective solution has greatly enhanced the overall organization of my workshop.
The Jet Bandsaw
In the pursuit of expanding my tool collection, I recently acquired a Jet bandsaw for my shop. This new addition has been a game-changer, opening up a whole new realm of possibilities for me as a woodworker. I am excited to share a detailed video soon, showcasing the features and capabilities of this powerful tool.
The Point Driver Tool
During one of my recent projects, I discovered the usefulness of a point driver tool for securing pictures, Glass, and backers inside picture frames. This tool simplifies the framing process and ensures a secure fit. If you haven't already invested in one, I highly recommend it for any DIY enthusiast or hobbyist.
Building Picture Frames
Inspired by my newfound love for framing, I decided to make some custom picture frames. Not only does this allow me to showcase my artwork and photographs, but it also adds a personal touch to my home decor. In a separate video, I will dive deeper into the process of building picture frames, providing step-by-step instructions and helpful tips.
Making a Project Board
To better organize my thoughts and prioritize my projects, I have started utilizing a project board. Writing down my ideas and tasks has proven to be incredibly helpful in keeping me focused and preventing distractions. By creating a visual representation of my projects, I can easily track progress and ensure that nothing falls through the cracks.
The Use of Distractions
As a DIY enthusiast, it's easy to become overwhelmed by the abundance of projects and ideas constantly swirling in our minds. To avoid getting sidetracked, I have made a conscious effort to stay focused on one project at a time. By managing distractions effectively, I can complete projects more efficiently and deliver high-quality content to my audience.
The Special Project
One exciting project that has recently caught my Attention is a unique request from a friend of my father-in-law. He asked me to convert an old Singer sewing machine table into a functional desk. However, I have a surprise twist in mind for this project. I can't reveal too much just yet, but stay tuned for a dedicated video showcasing the transformation of this sentimental piece.
DIY Anniversary Gift
Being the DIY enthusiast that I am, I took it upon myself to create a special anniversary gift for my loved one. I repurposed some materials from my previous projects and built custom trellises for our garden boxes. These trellises not only enhance the overall aesthetic but also provide support for our plants to grow and thrive. It's a Meaningful gift that symbolizes our shared love for gardening and creativity.
Installing Trellises
With the trellises built, it was time to find the perfect spots for them in our backyard. We currently have an empty area where a garden box used to be, and the trellises will bring new life and functionality to the space. We carefully considered various locations along the fence and determined the best positions to maximize the visual impact. The addition of these trellises will undoubtedly elevate our outdoor space and create a captivating focal point.
