Celebrating Mother's Day with a Doodle

Mother's Day is a special day dedicated to appreciating and honoring our mothers. It's a time to Show them love and make them feel like the queens they are. In this video, I share a doodle that I created in my bullet journal, following along with my May theme. The quote I chose for this doodle reads, "A mother is like a flower, each one beautiful and unique." I specifically chose this quote to Align with Mother's Day.

The Inspiration Behind the Doodle

As I was planning my May bullet journal spreads, I drew inspiration from a YouTuber and bullet journal enthusiast named Mira. She showcases her beautiful bullet journal spreads on Instagram as well, which encouraged me to Create an account of my own. After a request from one of my viewers, I decided to share my weekly spreads and art on Instagram under the username "bees.bujo."

Materials Used in the Video

Throughout the video, I mainly used a Pigma Micron pen in size 01 for outlining. I also used a Tombow Fudenosuke pen for certain details. As I progress in the video, I will be using different markers to add color to the doodle. I will specify the specific numbers of the Tombow markers I use and the brown-colored Crayola Super Tips markers.

Exploring the May Theme

I am particularly fond of my May theme for my bullet journal. The concept behind it is the "secret garden," which is reminiscent of the beautiful paintings and artwork I see on Instagram. Although I initially intended to paint the garden, I ultimately decided against it. The thin pages of my journal would likely cause the paint to bleed through, and I didn't want to risk ruining the spreads.

The Time-Consuming Nature of the Theme

One thing to note about this theme is that it is time-consuming. The process involves meticulously outlining the drawing and adding details, as well as choosing and applying colors. While it is a labor-intensive theme for me personally, the end result is undeniably stunning. Bullet journaling, for me, is a way to express my creativity and stay connected to the world of art.
