Facing Off Against AI: A Pokemon Design Battle

In this episode of "My Creative Show," we embark on an exciting challenge: a face-off against AI in a Pokemon design battle. The goal is to Create three new starter Pokemon for an imaginary game. But we're not alone in this challenge. The AI algorithm, Mid Journey, will also design three Pokemon. It's a classic battle of humans versus machines, and the results are about to unfold.

Creating the Starter Pokemon

The Grass Type Pokemon: Moose

To begin our design challenge, we decide to create a grass type Pokemon inspired by a moose. With rough outlines and reference images in HAND, we start sketching our character's appearance. Taking inspiration from other grass type Pokemon, we incorporate leaves and intricate details into the design. The coloring process involves primarily green shades, complemented by natural colors typically associated with moose. The final touch is adding shading to give the Pokemon a Sense of dimension and lighting. We proudly introduce our first creation: Moose Pokemon, named Leaf Roux.

The Fire Type Pokemon: Barbecue

Moving on to the Second starter Pokemon, it's time to brainstorm a fire type character. Wanting to mix things up, we decide to combine two animals: a dog and a cat. However, after some consideration, we opt for a more unique combination of a Bumblebee and a sea cucumber. The resulting design is a fascinating Fusion of bee-like features and the distinct Shape of a sea cucumber. We play around with flame Patterns and vibrant colors inspired by other fire type Pokemon. Introducing our fiery creation: Barbecue Pokemon.

The Water Type Pokemon: Aqua Hedgie

For the third and final starter Pokemon, we bring in a special guest, who suggests making a Pokemon Based on a Blue Hedgehog. Obliging the request, we embark on creating a water type Hedgehog. Striving to make it stand out, we decided to give it characteristics inspired by shells. The design incorporates the iconic spiky furball look of a Hedgehog, with unique additions such as shell-like ears. We bring the character to life with carefully detailed shading and coloring. Presenting our aquatic creation: Aqua Hedgie Pokemon.

Showcasing the Designs

After completing our hand-drawn designs, it's time to compare them to the AI-generated Pokemon. We enter our image generation Prompts into Mid Journey and eagerly wait for the results. Surprisingly, the AI's creations turned out to be quite impressive, even if slightly similar to each other. While we didn't expect the AI to fully understand the prompt, it managed to deliver compelling designs in just a few seconds.

Judgment Round: The Verdict

To determine the victor of our Pokemon design battle, we call upon two guest judges, Pierre and Alice. They are presented with a comparison of the human-designed and AI-generated Pokemon. After careful consideration, a tie emerges between the choices of the judges. As a result, we turn to the audience for the final verdict.
