Introduction
Welcome to this week's edition of Sunday Sofa Time! Today, I have some exciting updates and plans to share with You. But first, let me explain why I had to re-record this video.
Why I Had to Re-record the Video
On my recent trip to the Apex Cruise, which I just returned from yesterday, I encountered a minor setback with my luggage. Unfortunately, my bags did not make it to the destination. As a result, I've had to make some adjustments to my original sofa time plans for today. Additionally, the tripod and microphone I usually use for recording are also in my missing suitcase, making it difficult for me to film a full episode of sofa time. But worry not, as I have something else exciting to share with you today!
Change of Plans: Apex Cruise Updates
Many of you have been eagerly awaiting updates on my Apex Cruise experience, and I'm just as excited to share them with you. However, I've realized that presenting the content out of order on my Channel doesn't work as well. So, here's what I've decided to do: over the next two to three weeks, I will Continue with the Ruse Prestige River Cruise videos. Once completed, I will then begin sharing the Apex Cruise content in the proper sequence. But if you can't wait and want a sneak peek of the Apex Cruise right now, make sure to follow me on Facebook and Instagram, where I've been posting video clips and stories from my Journey. Additionally, for exclusive early access, consider signing up or logging into my Patreon.com very unofficial account.
The Roos Prestige River Cruise Experience
Now, let's move on to the main highlight of today's video: the cabin tour from the Roos Prestige River Cruise. Just a few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to embark on this river cruise adventure, and it surpassed my expectations. The cabin may not boast extravagant features, but it is more than adequate. Allow me to walk you through it.
Cabin Tour on the Roos Prestige
My cabin, number 313, is located on the Roos Prestige's deck 3. I must note that this cabin category is standard across this deck, regardless of whether you're cruising solo or not. So, let's begin our tour!
Starting from the corner over there, you'll Notice that I have the window open, offering a serene view of the Water. This cabin's size aligns with what I observed in other river cruise boats parked alongside us. Interestingly, some ships, like Viking, have different balcony styles, where the area I'm currently in would be designated as a balcony. However, on the Roos Prestige, it's considered part of the cabin, creating a more spacious interior.
Exploring the Cabin
As we continue, you'll see there are outlets conveniently placed next to each side of the bed—a small but essential Detail that earns this cabin some extra points. Plus, if you take a closer look, I've added a tissue under the corner of a painting to prevent it from making an annoying sound when the ship vibrates slightly. Although insignificant, it's these little adjustments that contribute to a comfortable experience.
On either side of the bed, you'll find drawer space to stow away your belongings. Moving along, we have a closet, including top storage space, a small safe, and cubbies for clothes. If you're cruising with two people, organizing your items may require some creativity, as additional storage options are limited to the lower section. However, it's manageable with proper planning.
Furthermore, I've included a technic drawer, where I store all my cords, cables, and adapters. Opposite that, a small television impresses as a new addition with excellent quality. Additionally, there's a power cube with European plugs—a nifty solution for charging multiple devices simultaneously.
Another noteworthy feature in this cabin is the provision of individual audio devices for excursions. Each guest receives their personal audio set that they can use throughout the week, eliminating the need for constant maintenance and cleaning.
The Bathroom Facilities
Adjacent to the bathroom door, you'll find the thermostat, which may look old-school, but it functions efficiently. You can adjust the fan speed and switch between heating and air conditioning settings, allowing for a pleasant climate within the cabin.
The bathroom itself follows the standard layout you'd expect on a cruise ship—compact yet functional. Although lacking in bright lighting, it provides ample space for basic necessities, such as the cups and counter area. However, additional shelves would be beneficial, especially for accommodating the belongings of two individuals.
The shower in this cabin is worth highlighting, as it features a hard cabin door rather than curtains. This aspect ensures a more comfortable showering experience, eliminating any unwanted clinginess. Although the shower area's Shape is unique, going from wide to narrow, the water pressure remains excellent.
A Comparison with Other River Cruises
As a first-time river cruiser, I can't make direct comparisons to other experiences. However, I've had the opportunity to glance into cabins on neighboring ships, thanks to how closely they dock alongside one another. From my observations, the Roos Prestige cabins Align with the standard size and style found across most river cruise ships. The level of comfort and amenities provided meet the expectations of river cruising enthusiasts.
Conclusion
Thank you for joining me on this cabin tour of the Roos Prestige River Cruise. Although I may lack the firsthand comparison to other river cruises, I can confidently say that this cabin offers a comfortable and satisfactory experience. The Attention to detail, such as the convenient outlets next to the bed, demonstrates that the Roos Prestige understands its guests' needs.
