Introducing Myself as a Social Media Intern

Hello everyone! My name is Veronica Seta, and I am one of the social media interns at One Salting. As a marketing major at San Jose State University, I have been fortunate enough to join this amazing team and contribute to their social media presence.

Dressing for Zoom University

As the world transitioned into a remote learning environment, the days of wearing sweatpants and t-shirts to class have become the norm. I can certainly relate to this as I navigate Zoom University. In fact, my outfit of the day often consists of gray sweatpants paired with my SJSU sweatshirt, representing my university colors.

A Day in My College Life

Every day starts with the excitement of attending classes and working on various projects. As a senior marketing major, I am currently taking three classes, including a capstone strategic management class, product development, and a graphic design class where I am learning Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.

Working on Projects for Jerry

In addition to my classes, I am also responsible for working on projects assigned by Jerry, one of the founders of One Salting. Recently, I had to Create a video for him, but there was a little hiccup when he forgot to send me the necessary materials on time. However, we quickly resolved the issue, and I continued working on the video.

The Importance of Meal Prepping

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is essential to me, which is why I engage in meal prepping at the beginning of the week. It allows me to stay on track with my fitness goals and ensures that I Consume nutritious meals. Currently, my meal prep includes protein peanut butter oatmeal and baked potatoes.

Being the YouTube Lead

One of my main responsibilities as a social media intern is being the YouTube lead for One Salting. I am responsible for creating video plans, editing videos, and coming up with creative content ideas. Although this role comes with its challenges, I am constantly learning and improving my skills in video editing and content creation.

The Process of Video Editing and Thumbnail Creation

Video editing is a crucial aspect of my role, and I utilize Final Cut Pro for this task. Additionally, I spend a significant amount of time creating eye-catching thumbnails. Despite the misconception that thumbnails are quick and easy to design, they require careful consideration to ensure they Align with One Salting's aesthetic and attract viewers.

How I Got the Job at One Salting

Securing this internship was not an easy task. I knew I had to stand out among other applicants to catch the Attention of Jonathan and Jerry, the founders of One Salting. I contacted their previous marketing intern, Solby, to gain Insight into the role. Additionally, I made a post on LinkedIn about our conversation, ensuring that Jonathan and Jerry saw it. These actions, coupled with my experience in YouTube and a well-prepared portfolio, helped me secure an interview and ultimately land the job.
