Setting Up Your Chat GPT API

In this training, we will guide You through the process of setting up your Chat GPT API, which is the OpenAI API. This API allows you to generate chat-Based content and integrate it into your Content Scheduler AI account.

To begin, you need to visit the OpenAI Website and login using your account credentials. If you don't have an account yet, you can Create one using your Google, Microsoft, or Apple account. Once you're logged in, you'll see options for Chat GPT, Dali (image creation service), and the API. We will focus on the API for now.

To generate an API key, click on the API section and then navigate to the "Personal" section. From there, you can view your API keys. If this is your first time accessing the API keys, you will need to set up a payment method in the billing section. This is necessary even if you have a Chat GPT Plus account. The cost of generating content with the API is minimal, but it's important to have a valid payment method associated with your account.

After setting up your payment method, return to the API keys section and click on "Add" to create a new secret key. Choose a name for your key and ensure it is stored securely, as it won't be displayed in full after creation. Once your secret key is generated, copy and save it in a safe place.

Next, go back to your Content Scheduler AI account's settings and navigate to the Chat GPT section. Paste your API key into the specified field and click "Update" to save the changes. Now, you're ready to start generating AI content using your newly configured Chat GPT API.

Keep in mind that the system prompts, which help set the context for the AI, can be configured later. In upcoming trainings, we will explore how to use prompts effectively and discuss additional AI settings.
