Introduction

Welcome to DIY Art Plus! In this video, we will be painting a quick and easy masterpiece together. Whether You're a seasoned painter or a beginner, this tutorial is perfect for you. Grab your painting materials and let's get started!

Materials

To complete this painting, you will need the following materials:

  • Acrylic paint in yellow, red, white, orange, black, and brown
  • An 8x10 canvas (or any other surface of your choice)
  • Paint brushes (a flat brush and a small brush)
  • A cup of water for cleaning brushes

Painting on Different Surfaces

If you don't have a canvas, don't worry! You can paint on a watercolor paper or any other suitable surface you have. The important thing is to enjoy the process and have fun while painting.

Painting Technique: Applying Water

Before we start painting, it's a good idea to Apply a little water to the canvas. This helps the paint spread more easily and gives the painting a smoother look. Simply wet your brush with a small amount of water and apply it all over the canvas.

Applying Brown Color to the Background

Using the flat brush, start applying the brown color to the bottom corner of the canvas. Work your way up, covering about three-quarters of the canvas with the brown color. Don't worry about making it too smooth; we'll be adding more colors later to Create depth and texture.

Adding Depth with Black Color

To create some depth and contrast, add a small amount of black paint to the bottom of the canvas. Blend it with the brown color using left and right brush strokes. This will give the painting a bit of texture and make it more visually interesting.

Applying Red Color to the Background

Now it's time to add some richness to the painting by applying the red color to the background. Start from the bottom and work your way up, remembering to avoid covering the area where we will be placing the sun. Keep the red color within the boundaries of the brown color, but don't worry about being too precise. The colors will blend together beautifully later on.

Blending Colors Together

Using the small brush, mix some brown and white paint together. Apply this mixture between the brown and red colors, blending them together. The more you work between these colors, the more they will blend and create a seamless transition. You can also experiment with mixing the colors on a separate surface, but I find this method gives a more natural look.

Adding Yellow and White to the Background

To create a warm and vibrant background, add some yellow and white paint to the canvas. Start by applying the yellow color between the brown and red colors. Don't worry about going over the boundaries; it will add to the overall effect. Blend the colors together using left and right brush strokes, making sure to cover all the area up to the top of the canvas.

Creating the Tree

Using the small brush, add a large tree trunk to the canvas. Start from the bottom and make the trunk thicker as you go up. You can create the Shape of the tree trunk as you like. Remember, it doesn't have to be straight; you can add curves and bends to make it more interesting and organic.

Adding Highlight to the Tree

To add some highlight to the tree trunk, use a gray color. Apply the gray paint to one side of the brush and then create some vertical lines on the darker side of the tree trunk. This will give the illusion of light hitting the tree trunk and add depth to the painting.

Adding Leaves to the Tree

Now let's add some leaves to the tree. Using a dry brush, pick up some yellow paint and dab the excess off on a separate surface. Then, randomly dab the yellow paint around the branches of the tree. Repeat the same process with orange and red paint, overlapping the colors slightly. This will create a vibrant and autumnal look to the tree.

Enhancing the Ground with Dots

To finish off the painting, let's add some dots to the ground. You can use yellow, orange, and red paint for this. Dab your brush in the paint and then dot it on the canvas, creating a scattered pattern. This will give the impression of fallen leaves on the ground and add a final touch of color to the painting.

And there you have it! A beautiful and vibrant painting that you can be proud of. Remember to clean your brushes thoroughly with soap and water after each painting session. Don't forget to share your masterpiece with me, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask. Happy painting!
