Introduction
Hello and welcome back to this Channel! First and foremost, I would like to express my gratitude for helping us reach 10,000 subscribers. Thank You all for your support! I apologize for being absent for the past two to three months. Life has been quite hectic, and finding the time to film videos has been a challenge. However, I am back with a lot of exciting ideas, and I am ready to share them with you in the upcoming weeks. In today's video, we will explore different methods to incorporate colors or color palettes into Adobe Fresco.
Update Adobe Fresco
Before we begin, make sure to update your Adobe Fresco to the latest version. Some of the features I will discuss are only available in the newest version of Fresco. Once you have updated, open a file in Fresco. It can be any size, but I recommend using the Current screen size for better visibility.
Picking Colors Using Pencil or Finger
One of the most obvious ways to pick colors is by using your pencil or finger. Simply bring in an image and manually pick the colors you want. This method is commonly used in tutorials. However, there is a new option that allows you to import colors directly from images. Once you update Fresco, this option is automatically turned on. To import colors, click on the image icon, go to your photos, select an image, and click "done." The colors from the image will be added to your color palettes.
Importing Colors from Images
While the automatic color import feature is convenient, it may not pick up all the colors from an image. If you are particular about the colors you want to pick, you can manually select and mark colors on your artboard using the brush tool. This creates a new layer and adds the hand-picked colors to your recent palettes. You can also delete palettes that you no longer need.
Hand Picking Colors
If you prefer hand-picking colors, you can turn off the automatic color palette creation feature. To do this, go to the app settings, select "General," and disable the "Auto create color palette" option. This prevents color palettes from being created every time you import a photo. However, if you still need to import colors from an image, you can use the split-screen mode to manually add the image to your color palettes.
Disabling Auto Create Color Palette
One disadvantage of having the "Auto create color palette" setting turned on is that it pulls color palettes from sketches as well. This may not be desired if you are using a photo as a reference and do not intend to use the colors. To disable this setting, go to app settings, select "General," and turn off the "Auto create color palette" option. This ensures that color palettes are not created when importing sketches or photos.
Creating Permanent Color Palette using Adobe Color
For a more permanent color palette, you can use Adobe Color. Open your browser and go to color.adobe.com. Sign in using the same account as your Adobe Fresco. Here, you can create custom color palettes by selecting colors manually or using hex codes. You can save these palettes to your library, which will be accessible in Fresco. Additionally, you can explore and download pre-made color palettes from various categories.
Choosing Custom Colors
When using Adobe Color, you have the freedom to choose custom colors for your palettes. You can either input the hex codes directly or use the color selection tools provided. This allows you to create unique color themes according to your preferences. Remember to save your color theme to a specific library for easy access in Fresco.
Saving Color Themes
Once you have created your color theme in Adobe Color, you can save it to your desired library. You can either save it to your default library or create a new one. The saved color themes will be accessible in Fresco under the specified library. This allows you to use your favorite color palettes across multiple projects.
Exploring and Downloading Color Palettes
In Adobe Color, you can explore a wide range of color palettes created by other users. Use the search bar to find specific color palettes or browse by categories such as fashion, graphic design, and illustration. You can save your favorite palettes to your library for future use. Additionally, you have the option to download a JPEG version of a color palette for sharing or reference.
Conclusion
In conclusion, there are several ways to incorporate colors or color palettes into Adobe Fresco. You can pick colors manually using your pencil or finger, import colors from images, or choose custom colors using Adobe Color. By exploring different methods, you can find the approach that best suits your workflow and creativity. Remember to update Fresco to access the latest features and maximize your color palette options.
