In this video, I'll demonstrate how to use vocabgenerator.com to convert your subtitles into vocabulary flashcards with translations.
Begin by taking screenshots of your subtitles, such as those from YouTube, as shown here. You can capture these screenshots on any device, whether it's a laptop or a mobile device, and then open vocabgenerator.com on this device and head to the subtitles section. Make sure that your subtitles are on a completely black background with white text, and positioned in the lower center of the screen, as displayed here. The appearence of your subtitles can usually be adjusted in the app of website you’re using to play the video.
Now that you are in the subtitles section of vocabgenerator.com, choose the language of your subtitles and the translation language for the flashcards. Then, upload your screenshots. After the website processes your screenshots and detects the subtitles texts, you will be asked to select the words you are unfamiliar with so it can create flashcards for those selected words. After selecting the unfamiliar words, confirm your selection.
You will then be directed to the flashcards overview page, where you can edit your flashcards as needed and export them to PDF or Anki.
