Upgrading to Next.js 15 in 5 min (Using Codemod)
Next.js 15 has just been released earlier today and I'm excited to take it on a test drive. Watch how I upgrade my blog template running on Next.js 14 to Next.js 15 using the official codemod by Vercel. While there are breaking change, specifically with the Async Request APIs, the codemod has managed to update all my routes to add in the `await`. Besides an existing favicon breaking, there's no other hiccups using the codemod. The entire process ended up taking less than 5 minutes. In the video you can also see the relative performance when the code is updated to use turbopack in Next.js 15 as opposed to webpack in Next.js 14. ## Resources Command for the upgrade: `npx @next/codemod@canary upgrade latest` Next.js 15 Summary: https://www.wisp.blog/blog/nextjs-15-is-out-whats-new-and-what-broke Next.js 15 Release Blog Post: https://nextjs.org/blog/next-15 Next.js Upgrade Guide: https://nextjs.org/docs/app/building-your-application/upgrading/version-15 ## Next.js 15 Corporate Blog Template The template I was upgrading in the video is an upcoming corporate blog template for Next.js 15. If you are looking to launch a blog like that, feel free to fork and deploy the code at https://github.com/Wisp-CMS/nextjs-corporate-blog-starter
1 Year Since My Co-Founder and I Broke Up...and We're Here to Tell Our Story
My former Co-Founder Raymond and I broke up a year ago. One year later, we decided to record a rare conversation that normally doesn't happen between two ex-co-founders. We reflect on our learnings, the breakup decision, and how those led us to where we are today. And we do not hold back at all. Before Peek, I was working on Bluejay with Raymond. We were first-time founders together and learned a ton from that experience. Even though we no longer work together, it's been awesome to still support each other on our separate ventures right now.
