Underrated Favorites
I want to start by sharing some of my favorite books that I feel are underrated. These are the books that didn't receive as much recognition as they deserved, but they truly touched my heart. One of these books is "Meet Me Halfway" by Lillian T James. It tells the story of two people from different worlds who find love in the most unexpected place. This book got me out of a reading slump and reminded me why I love romance novels.
Another underrated gem is "Flawless" by Aussie silver. It follows the story of a boss and a bull rider, and the unexpected connection they form. This book surprised me with its depth and emotional impact. Lastly, "One Percent of You" by Michelle Gross is a beautiful story about a single mom and a grumpy tattoo parlor owner. It captured my heart with its slow-burn romance and compelling characters.
Favorite Sports Romances
I have always been a fan of sports romances, and this year, I discovered three that I absolutely adored. The first is "Icebreaker" by Hannah Grace, which centers around a hockey player and an ice skater. Their chemistry and the challenges they face kept me glued to the pages. Next is "Mile High" by Liz Tom Ford, where a hockey player falls for the flight attendant on his team's plane. This book had all the elements I love in a sports romance – passion, tension, and a bit of humor. Lastly, "Say You Swear" by Megan Brandy tells the story of a college football player and the girl who Never gives up on him. The intensity and emotional depth of this book had me rooting for the characters from start to finish.
The Twisted Series by Anna Huang
I cannot talk about my favorite books without mentioning the Twisted series by Anna Huang. This series consists of four books, with "Twisted Hate" and "Twisted Lies" being the ones I Read this year. However, all four books - including "Twisted Love" and "Twisted Games" which I read last year - hold a special place in my heart. Each book in the series follows a different couple, but the overarching storyline and the complex characters make it a captivating read. I was completely absorbed in the world of the Twisted series and couldn't get enough of the drama, romance, and unexpected twists.
The Mind Series by SD Abby
If you're looking for a romance series with mystery, darkness, and heartbreak, then the Mind series by SD Abby is a must-read. This series consists of five books - "The Risk," "Sidetracked," "Scarlet Angel," "All the Lies," and "Painted All Red." Each book is relatively short, making them easy to devour. The stories revolve around compelling characters and explore themes of love, loss, and redemption. The Mind series is perfect for those who enjoy a mix of gripping plotlines and passionate romance.
A Memoir: "I'm Glad My Mom Died" by Jeanette McCurdy
In the midst of all the fictional novels, I stumbled upon a compelling memoir titled "I'm Glad My Mom Died" by Jeanette McCurdy. This book touched me deeply as it explores the author's personal Journey and the emotions she experienced after the loss of her mother. McCurdy's candid storytelling and raw vulnerability made me reflect on my own life and appreciate the precious moments with loved ones. Despite its heavy subject matter, the memoir left me feeling inspired and grateful for the resilience of the human spirit.
