This emulator helps to bypass certain CPU instructions that are typically required for installing and launching Windows 10. After testing various QMA versions, we found that the 2019 O2 18 build worked best.

Installing and Configuring Windows 7

Before diving into the installation of Windows 10, we first needed to install and configure Windows 7. Using the tool called Rufus, we created a bootable USB drive with the Windows 7 installation files. This version of Windows was chosen to ensure compatibility with the chosen QMA virtual machine emulator. After a successful installation, we installed the necessary GeForce drivers (version 314.22) for the GT430 video card.

Installing and Launching Windows 10 on Pentium 3

With Windows 7 up and running, it was time to begin the installation of Windows 10 on the Pentium 3 system. We launched the QMA virtual machine emulator and initiated the installation process using a Windows 10 Build 1507 PE ISO. Despite encountering some on-screen blinking for over 16 hours and 28 minutes, the process eventually completed. It's important to note that during this time, the CPU name displayed as "QMA Virtual CPU." The RAM was also recognized as QMA RAM.

Swapping the Physical CPU to Pentium 2

To further push the limits, we decided to swap the physical CPU to a Pentium 2 400. However, the GT430 video card did not cooperate with the Pentium 2 system. Fortunately, we had a GT 610 in the pure PCI form, which resulted in successful detection by Windows. Most of the hardware was recognized, and we did not need to reinstall everything.
